Rules

Equipment

Equipment requirements for epée will be to British Fencing safety requirements for Other Competitions, i.e. jacket, breeches and mask will be to a minimum of CEN 1 standard (350N) while the plastron is required to conform to CEN 2 (800N).

For the foil competitions equipment should be to FIE (CEN 2) standards, these are:

  • 800 Newton jacket and breeches
  • 800 Newton plastron
  • 1600 Newton mask with a conductive bib
  • FIE homologated blade

Fencers whose equipment does not meet these standards will not be allowed to fence.

Referees

The organisers will make every attempt to ensure that sufficient referees are available for all stages of the tournament. However, it would aid the smooth running of the competition if clubs entering a significant number of fencers could provide additional, qualified referees.
